MORBLUS was constituted in 1991 by Roberto Morbioli, whose project was to create a Blues Band by the bursting impact on stage, with its roots deeply anchored in American Blues tradition but not missing its own originality. The sound that originates since the beginning is powerful, groovy, enriched by influences from Funk, R&B and Soul: a sound that characerize the MORBLUS as one of the best on the European scenery. Sandra Hall, Chicago "Bob" Nelson, Beverly Hammond, Jesse Yawn, Steve Smith, Paul Orta, Preston Shannon, Hush Brown, Blu "Benoit" Boy, Michael Coleman, Rudy Rotta, Tolo Marton, Louisiana Mojo Queen, Billy Coban, Stanley Jordan, Robben Ford, John Mayall, Stevie Smith, Roomful of Blues….. the co-operation with these and many more international Blues artist has in years raised the sound of MORBLUS to a level in which technique and soul merge with great ability in one whole distinct body. The style of the band, deeply respecting the precepts of the greatest 'Black Music', does not indulge in useless embellishments or in harmful self-satisfactions, but on the contrary privileges the substance of earthly elements. The contribution of highly competent musicians then, is essential to the expression of power the MORBLUS can convey… particularly on stage. The powerful groove and originality that has marked out the band since the beginning, has brought the MORBLUS to appear on major Italian networks, and to be called as supporters to the Italian tours of John Mayall and Robben Ford, and even to play at the legendary B.B. King's Blues Club in Memphis! Now the MORBLUS BAND is having a great response in the northern Europe where it concentrates most of its activity, even though not missing the most significant events in Italy. |
