Goofy and the Regulars originates from The Mission B.B., a band who played on many (European) festivals and who played in supporting programs of famous artists. The members of the band have stayed the same for a while: Ruud Junggeburth (singing), Jan Michiel Hoog Antink (accordion), Ron van Beijnen (guitar), Bob Fridzema (hammond), Jaap Dörr (bass) and Roan Segers (drums). Although the roots of the band are in the blues, you can call the work of Goofy and the Regulars versatile. “We play an interesting mix of blues, rock, funk and pop”, says singer Ruud Junggeburth. After the albums ‘Delayed’ (2002) and ‘Burning Candles’ (2005) it is time for the new album: ‘Flat Lands’. “Last summer we started the preparations for this new album. With producer Edwin Balogh we have put our songs under a magnifying glass through which the songs have been improved. The songs are touching and powerful. We are very pleased about the result.” The name ‘Flat Lands’ relates to the flat land where the band members are living. There where a snowboarder does not belong, Ruud explains. “We love snowboarding, but here we have ‘sour rain, muddy waters and little gravity forces’. We would like to slide with our snowboards from a mountain with fresh snow. Actually, the ‘Flat Lands is the ‘Snowboarder’s blues’.” Three albums have been released: "Delayed" (2002) "Burning Candles" (2005) "Flat Lands" (2008) |
